🎬 About the film “Seeds of Dignity”:
A political and visually poetic short documentary. Seeds of Dignity chronicles the path taken by Buzuruna Juzuruna, a group of farmers and seed activists operating in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. As they gather, duplicate and distribute heirloom seeds to their network of farmers, they resist industrial agriculture and recover the right to grow food outside the reach of global capitalism. Filmed against a background of conflict, economic collapse and colonial legacies, the documantary is a meditation on resistance, dignity and the power of seeds to link generations, geographies and aspirations for sovereignty. We open at 19:00, the film screening will start at 19:30. The film is in Arabic an will be shown with English subtitles. After the film a member of Buzuruna Juzuruna will join us online from Lebanon for a conversation and a Q&A.
